It's the story of a young student named Sophie. She lives in a large building. One night, while the girl was sleeping, someone knocked on her door very loudly. She gets up despite the fear and will open the door. She is the neighbour, she was very pale and asked if she could spend the night at Sophie's because her husband hit her. The neighbour reassures the young girl by telling her that she has called her family and that they will pick her up first thing in the morning. Sophie was sad for his neighbour, so she gave him a warm blanket and offered to spend the night on the couch. When she wakes up, the young student notices that the blanket is folded on the table and that his neighbour has left. So that she doesn't ask herself questions, she prepares herself and goes to school.

The next night, there was another knock on his door.  It's the neighbour at the door again. But this time, the neighbour has a lot of blows on her face. She asked the young student a second time to host her. Sophie did not refuse because she was afraid for her neighbour, so she suggested that she sleep on the couch again. When Sophie wakes up, she notices once again that the neighbour is no longer there.

And throughout the week Sophie wakes up every night to once again welcome her poor neighbour. Sophie was very worried and she was also scared, so she went to the police to explain the situation. The policeman, after listening to all Sophie's suspicious arguments, shows her a picture in which she recognizes this neighbour. The policeman told Sophie that this woman in the photo lived in the building 5 years ago and was beaten to death right on the landing of Sophie's apartment by her husband....
