Make a parallel between the dystopian world described by Margaret Atwood and today's society

Being able to make a parallel between a dystopian novel where women have no rights, written 30 years ago, and today's society is quite revolting. That tells a lot about our society, because there's nothing good about the way women are treated in the novel. There's constant misogyny, violence towards women, lesbians and gender-traitors are hanged and mainly, women have no power over their body because men have it. The last point is sadly a truth in our society, even more since regressives laws were voted in the United States.
