L'argent dans Bel Ami

Last summer, we took part in a concourse. It was organised by famous French news’s paper, « Closer ». The winner could get a travel to the planet Mars. We never expected to win but the luck was with us and we finally won the travel.

We were so excited to leave that we immediately made our suitcase. Because we don’t know the weather there we decided to take a lot of clothes. For example, I had two nightgowns, three pairs of pyjamas and a dressing gown to sleep. For the day, I had hot clothes like woollen mittens, earmuffs, scarf, three waistcoats and leather boot. But also cold clothes like skirt, silk jacket, a nice flowered blouse and a pair of open-toed sandals.

We left Earth on Saturday 5th June and the rocket landed a couple of days later in the biggest city of the planet, « Gnoubule ». Before the visit of the city we decided to sleep a bit because we were very tired. We woke up 3 hours later and began our trip.

The town was gorgeous! The buildings were much bigger than here on Earth. In the same street you could find two bakery, a barber, a chemist’s, a library, two candy shops but there wasn’t any butcher, fishmonger’s or pet shops. In fact, there aren’t any pets on Mars. It means that’s all the Martian are vegan. At the beginning we were a bit stunned but we fast adapted ourselves.
During our travel we make us a lot of new friends. Martian are very friendly and cheerful. When we arrived, they made a big party for us and we met many Martian. Bounty was my favourite meted. She direct talk with us even if we were a bit shy at the beginning. She was very nice and had a green skin colour. Moreover she had eight arms Bounty introduced us to all his friends! She was very popular but she wasn’t mischievous or naughty. We became very good friends and we are always in contact with her.

During three days we tried a lot of sports. The first day, we take up sailing in the galaxy. It was very nice because we saw the all galaxy with the stars, the moon… The second day was dangerous... We tried sand surfing, it’s like sky surfing but it is on the beach but we had a problem, there was a sand storm at that moment… We were scared but Jane was with us and with her eight legs she took eight umbrellas. So we were shelter from the storm. At the end Jane had a lot of sand in her long curly hair and her blue eyes were red but she was always good-looking.
The last day was amazing! We did wrestling with someone that has a disability. That sportsman overcame his disability and became the champion of wrestling. He had a prosthetic leg but he can fight like Ali Mohammed. He’s my role model.

This travel was so incredible. It will certainly change our life!
