This song is a kind of tribute to Martin Luther king. It was created by Stevie Wonder to promote a national celebration day for Martin Luther King 's actions (on Martin Luther King's birthday).

Martin Luther King is known for his actions and his fight against segregation in the USA. He participated and was the principal icone of some big events such as the March on Washington, that happened between 1963 and 1968. His actions helped the American black community to gain rights and  have a statute equal to that of  white people . Martin Luther King had a quite normal life before becoming a hero, even if he was smarter than most  American people. He was born in Antlanta, studied systematic theology at Boston University and was awarded as PHD in  philosophy at the end of his studies (it's the highest academic degree awarded by American universities). Just after that, Martin Luther King became pastor of the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, (Alabama, USA), at the age of 25, in 1955.

We can say that he is a hero because he made public his ideas and his vision of what the USA could be without segregation and racial inequalities even if it was really dangerous to do so. He fought for what he thought, but never called for violence, he respected a peaceful way to fight even against people who wanted him dead. They eventually killed him. His speech « I have a dream » delivered publicly in washington D.C. Is very famous in the world. That makes him a great hero, someone nameworthy that should be known as an example.
