Hello, I will present my project entitled "Wind turbine improved"

A wind turbine is a device that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy through wind. In times of strong wind, the wind turbine blades stop thanks to an electric braking system. Once the blades stopped, they remains facing the wind, which may deteriorated. Our project is to find a way to avoid deteriorating the blades of the wind turbine.

To have a brief idea of our project, when the wind breath to thirty five meters per second or more, the drift will pivot to a ninety degree angle to no longer be the wind, but from the side, so to minimize the impact on the blades of the wind turbine.

We conducted a video to get a better idea of our approach

I compared two pivot connection systems. A worm gear system with a pinion and a screw-nut system.

Both solutions are not hugely in complexity, are both feasible and cost of its components are accessible.

In our school, we posédons these two components. The installation is narrow, we must reduce the maximum size of the transmission chain. The screw system is best suited, but is less resistant the system screw nut.

We have therefore chosen the endless screw system.

We have information to verify that the engine is well suited for rotate the drift to ninety degrees.

Torque motor, Number of teeth of the pinion, and the diameter of the pinion.

We put in the worst case.

The wind comes exercised its strength in this part of the drift. We will calculate the torque exerted by the wind drift. Let me explain.
