SYMBOLS AND IMAGERY is the technique used in this image because the lungs and the cigarette are represented as a video game, which makes us understand the message directly. This technique is very effective because it represents the phenomenon that occurs when people smoke. This helps to prevent and to make people think quickly.

SCARE TACTICS is also used. Indeed, this image uses fear to make people think. When there are no more blocks in the game, the game is over. This means that the cigarette will gradually destroy the lungs and then it will be death for the smoker, which should encourage smokers seeing this image to take action and stop smoking.

The message is extremely simple and therefore very effective. There is no need to add more. Moreover, the choice of colours is very interesting: blue is the most loved colour of all and reassures us, red is strength, confidence, leadership and power.
