Nelson Mandela was freed after 27 years in prison. He was elected and appointed President of South Africa in 1994.

At the rugby match between South Africa and England, Nelson Mandela, the President went to the field to greet the players and their good luck, to encourage them. Upon his arrival, Mandela was applauded by some of the audience and booed by the other. He greeted a few fans who wore the colors of the new South Africa that symbolized the union between black people and white people.

During the match, Mandela realized that encouraged blacks England as the Springboks were the symbol of apartheid, while whites encouraged South Africa.

Mandela met with the Minister. He asked in "How long is the Rugby World Cup?"He then said to "in a year." He continued by saying that the Springboks chances were low, and if they could not make a good run, that "Heads will roll." Then he met with his secretary, who was surprised by the presence of flags and songs representing apartheid. Mandela finally spoke with the minister of sports was announced that the National Sports Committee had to meet in order to vote for the removal of the Springbok team, the removal of gold and green colors of the team to take revenge on white people.

The match was lost by the Springboks 24-9.
