La chirurgie esthétique (en anglais)

I am going to talk about the notion of idea of progress.

First of all, I will give a definition of this notion. The idea of progress can be defined as an improvement, a development or a change, a technical, scientific or social advance which contributes to making the world a better place.

My presentation will fall into three parts. In the first part I will talk about the cosmetic surgery. In the second part I will explain the pros and cons cloning. In the last part I will talk about the in-vitro fertilization.

To introduce this notion our English teacher showed us a document with photographs about people before and after their plastic surgery. Lots of people resort to plastic surgery because of hang-ups. Some women want to be prettier because of the society’s criteria. They want to be perfect but the result is not always as expected. Using this type of surgery when people don’t want to getting old is not a good solution.

Sometimes the plastic surgery is used so as to treat victims of accident or birth defects. In this case this surgery is using to save people.
