D'abord, il faut identifier le document: This picture is ...

a photograph, a poster, an advertisement, an illustration from a book, a painting, a drawing, a scene from a film...

Ensuite, décrire ce que l'on voit:

The scene takes place ...

outside, inside, at school, at home, in the street, in Britain, in the USA, in France...

It takes place ...

during the day, at night, late in the evening, early in the morning, after school, at the weekend...

There are ... people

There are .... adults, children, girls, boys

In the background, I can see ...

In the middle I can see...

In the top right hand corner (en haut à droite) / in the bottom right hand corner (en bas à droite)

In the top left hand corner (en haut à gauche) / in the bottom left hand corner (en bas à gauche)

Enfin, on essaye de deviner (les rapports et les actions des personnages, ce qui s'est passé avant, ce qu'ils pensent, les sentiments...) et on donne ses impressions:

The two girls are sisters because...

The three students are meeting for the first time because...

The man is working. I can see...

She looks happy because... Maybe she...

The colours are ... I think the painter ...

I like the details of the hat because...

I don't like the picture but the face of the girl is very beautiful...

Il faut toujours donner du positif et du négatif, mais il faut faire attention de ne pas affirmer son point de vue. Pour cela, utilisez les auxiliaires de mode!
