The Rolling Stones is an English rock band formed in London in 1962

The band was composed of 6 members :

  1. Brian Jones, the founder and the original bandleader of the Rolling Stones

He developed a serious drug problem over the years and the band asked him to live Rolling Stones in 1969. He died a month later in his swimming-pool

  1. Ian Stewart was Scotish and he was the pianist of the band. He was fired in 1963 of the group because he didn't fit the group image
  1. Mick Jagger : was a singer and a songwritter and he has been described as « one of the most popular and influential man in the history of rock & roll »

        He began a solo-career in 1980 while beeing in the Rolling Stones band and he was         ennobled by the queen of England Elisabeth the Second

  1. Keith Richards was a singer and a songwritter too and he was guitarist

        Forteen songs that Richards wrote with the Rolling Stones are listed in the « 500 Greatest         Songs of All Time »

  1. Bill Wyman was the bass player of the group and he was the oldest one

  1. Charlie Watts was the drummer and he was considered as the rock's greatest drummer according to a music critic

Unknown, they made in 1962 their first concert at the Marquee Jazz Club in London which lasted only thirty minutes. They continued to make many local concerts in London before getting well-known

In 1963 their first singles came on and they performed an a British TV Show where they performed many songs

The Rolling Stones differed from the others singer by their lycris, their hairstyle and their clothing

Their image of bad boys inspired an entire generation of rock musician and many fans

 

In 1965, the Rolling Stones brought out the song « Satisfaction » and it quickly became a hit and made them world-famous

After the glory in the United Kingdom, they went out to conquer America

The Rolling Stones concerts turned often in big and violent riots.

In 1969 at the End of the American Tour they decided to make a free concert in California

This concert is known for considerable violence, including the death of Meredith Hunter and three other deaths and many extensive damage

The concert in Altamont in California came to be viewed as the end of the hippie era

The Rolling Stones have long criminal records

The Rolling Stones' first brush with the law came in 1972 when police found drug during a party at Keith Richards' home Richards and Jagger were busted for possession

In 1972 Brian was arrested for possession of marijuana, police found heroin in Keith Richard's hotel room

 
Today the Rolling Stones are all in their seventies


Between world tours, gigantic and successful concerts and  impressive turnover, The Rolling Stones are not ready to stop

They announced in September the release of their twenty-fifth album and they announced an upcoming concert tour in 2016 in Latin America

The Rolling Stones have about 350 three hundred and fifty songs and 24 twenty four CD's
