With the Spanish team, he achieved a historic tripling: European Cup 2008 and 2012, World Cup 2010, where he is the scorer of his team in the extension of the final of the World Cup against the Netherlands (1-0).

With 34 official titles, he is the most successful Spanish player in history.

May 24, 2018, Iniesta engages with the Japanese club Vissel Kobe for a period of three years and inherits the number 8. He says he wants to "contribute to the development of Japanese football".
