Stages of Pregnancy

Pregnancy, also known as gestation, is the time during which one or more offspring  develops inside a woman. Pregnancy may be confirmed with a pregnancy test. Pregnancy is considered at full term when gestation has lasted 39 to 41 weeks.  In France, during the next years , 767 000 birth as been

1 .Trimester                                                                                                                                The first trimester is from week one through 12 and includes conception .                                                                                                                           During the first trimester the body undergoes many changes. Hormonal changes affect almost every organ system in the body. These changes can start symptoms even in the very first weeks of pregnancy.When your period stopped is a clear sign that you are pregnant. Other changes may include:

  • Extreme tiredness
  • Tender, swollen breasts.
  • Upset stomach with or without morning sickness
  • Distaste for certain foods
  • Mood swings
  • Constipation
  • Need to pass urine more often
  • Headache (mal de tete)
  • Heartburn ( brulure d’estomac)
  • Weight gain or loss

During the first trimesters this changes  includes to change some of the routine.Fortunately, most of these discomforts will go away as the pregnancy progresses. And sometimes some women might not feel any discomfort at all.Each pregancy are differents so, it could feel differently every pregnancy for the same woman. Just as each woman is different, so is each pregnancy.

Second Trimester                                                                                                                                     The second trimester is from week 13 through 28.                                                                                                            Most women find the second trimester of pregnancy easier than the first. But it is just as important to stay informed about your pregnancy during these months.                                      Some symptoms like nausea and fatigue are going away. But other new, more noticeable changes to your body are now happening. Your abdomen will expand as the baby continues to grow. And before this trimester is over, the baby beginning to move !

As the body changes to make place for a growing baby, woman can have:

  • Body aches, such as back, abdomen  pain
  • Stretch marks on the  abdomen, breasts, thighs, or buttocks
  • Darkening of the skin around the nipples
  • A line on the skin running from belly button to pubic hairline
  • Brown spots can appear on the face in the shape of masks
  • Numb or tingling hands, called carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Itching on the abdomen, palms, and soles of the feet.
  • Swelling of the ankles, fingers, and face.

 Some of the same discomforts that woman had in the second trimester will continue. Plus, many women find breathing difficult and notice they have to go to the bathroom even more often. This is because the baby is getting bigger and it is putting more pressure on the organs. These problems will disapear once delivery pass.

Third Trimester                                                                                                                                   Third trimester is from 29 weeks through 40 weeks .                                                                                                                      Some new body changes you might notice in the third trimester include:
