SCHOOL FUNCTIONING IN THE AMISH

The system : It is in1972  that Amish obtain the right  to teach as they wish it. The Amish   children go to school during eight years, from six to  fourteen years. Teaching is in a  single class where all the levels are mixed, the teacher is also Amish. This teacher is not certified by the state, the teacher is in general an unmarriedwoman.     She is selected among the best pupils according to her capacities to teach and of her commitment to wards the values amish.


the program:   during their           schooling the children learn        English  , history,  geography and arithmetic. The    religion is not directly taught but each day starts with a prayer.
what that they must make/not make: they are the pupils who clean the class to learn how to maintain a place in state.

 

clothes: The pupils do not have special behaviors for the     school,   they wears the very sober            traditional clothes.

Here a photograph of a school    amish. One can see that this  school resembles has a house,    this architecture is selected to keep with dimensions traditional. we also see that this“house” is not very large and known as thus to comprise only one classroom, which us              references with the fact that         teaching is   made with all the mixed levels.
