Nowadays, the use of electronic gadgets has developed into a societal norm. We’ve come to be heavily reliant on modern technology that it evolved as a significant part of our everyday life. While novelties of all types and uses are handled daily for different purposes, the most common one has got to be the mobile phone. This device has become a necessity, so much as a priority to some. Small yet capable of a lot, its popularity continues to spread widely, aiding its users in many aspects. But, like any object, it doesn’t come without dangers and hazards.

One of the many pros of the mobile phone constitute its primary use. Originally, it has been created to accomplish a task that seemed impossible back then: rapid and wireless communication. It lets us interact with people regardless of time and place. This feature is an extremely, if not the most, helpful one. In addition, modern phones can access online content with the help of an Internet connection. This could render the task of searching for information’s for different topics easier and more affable for the public, and permit a worldwide connection between people thanks to social media. Moreover, when used moderately, entertainment applications could be a fun way to kill time. All these advantages would incite people to own cellphones, however, they don’t cancel out their cons. As any modern technology, the mobile phone come with dangers. One of the most common ones is health risks. The excessive use of this electronic device could cause eyesight problems, neck pain, and nerve damage. Addedly, it emits blue light, a type of wave that could cause sleep problems, and other dangerous rays. Other than menacing one’s health, it leads to bad time management. Users would linger on their phones, ignoring their duties and tasks. They would underestimate the importance of their work for the sole purpose of momentary fun. All of this aside, it could pose a serious security threat, too. People could be subjects of hacking disasters, events that could leak private and important information about them.

In my humble opinion, mobile phones are of great necessity. They are practical and very useful for many facets in the daily life. Many charges are covered by them, resulting in time saving and more efficient outcome. Nonetheless, we shouldn’t overlook its cons, that could sometimes cause serious, irreversible situations. I believe phone users should find a good balance in its usability, and don’t let technology completely take over their worlds.
