London

I was few times in London because my step mother used to live there, but I was there also in 2014 with my best friend and 2015 with high school. It's a beautiful city, a little expensive but it worth it.

London is the capital and most populous city of England and the United Kingdom.

Buses in London

The London Buses are an icon of London; they are red with a double-decker: it is really a symbol of the city.

Buckingham Palace

Since 1837, Buckingham Palace has been the London residence of the Royal Family and where Queen Elisabeth II currently resides. It was built in 1703 for the Duke of Buckingham.

Changing the Guard

Changing the Guard is one of the most popular attractions in London. During the ceremony that takes place in Buckingham Palace’s forecourt, the Old Guard is relieved by the New Guard and is accompanied by a military marching band.

Hyde Park

Located in the city center, Hyde Park is one of London's most popular parks. It is home to more than 4,000 trees, including the Serpentine Lake, a meadow and rose gardens. It is an ideal place for walking or cycling trails. There is also the memorial fountain of Diana, Princess of Wales.

Westminster Abbey

Westminster Abbey is London’s most famous and oldest religious building, where the monarchy is crowned and the remains of the Royal Family and famous British people are buried.

Westminster Palace

Westminster Palace, also referred to as the Houses of Parliament, is a Gothic styled building where the House of Commons and the House of Lords meet (the two houses of Parliament of the United Kingdom).

Big Ben

The Palace of Westminster’s famous clock tower has become one the city’s most famous landmarks, as well as one of the most iconic symbols of London. The gothic-styled tower standing 315 feet (96 m) high holds a four-faced clock and was built in 1858 at the far end of the Parliament.

London Eye

Completed in 2000, this surprising 443 feet (135m)-tall metal Ferris wheel has become one of the city’s top attractions and emblematic icons. Also known as the Millennium Wheel.

Harrods

Harrods is London’s most famous department store. It is very close to Hyde Park. It offers an extravagant decoration with statues, fountains and halls.

Harrods is one of the most exclusive department stores in the world. In general, it sells expensive merchandise. Many tourists buy small souvenirs such as tea, toys, chocolates and other goods to bring to their families and friends.

Piccadilly Circus

Piccadilly Circus is where many locals and tourists choose to meet because of its privileged location in the heart of London, it is close to important leisure and shopping areas. The square is famous for its neon signs, the Eros fountain located in the middle of this road junction, which is now one of the city’s top landmarks.

Piccadilly Circus offers a variety of cinemas, theatres, shops and restaurants, including famous traditional English pubs. This square is one of the liveliest areas in London and one of the main areas to go out partying.

Tower of London

Built under the reign of William the Conqueror, the Tower of London is a castle that has been used as a prison, as a royal residence, as a fortress and as an arsenal.

For over 900 hundred years the Tower of London was a symbol of terror and oppression, locking away those who offended the Monarch. Most prisoners were kept in appalling conditions, not surviving the hardships, or were tortured before being executed in the Tower Hill.

Many famous aristocrats, clergymen, and monarchs that had lost their thrones were kept between the walls of the Tower of London and executed in Tower Green, including Queen Anne Boleyn or Thomas More.
