India

India or the Republic of India is a country in the South of Asia. India is the second country densely populated in the world and the seventh biggest country.

The capital in India is New Delhi.

This statue is the emblem of India. We can see three lions on a circus tent. The emblem of India is an adaptation of the Lion Capitol Ashoka who is located in  Sarnath Museum. We can see on the emblem a Chakra, we can see a chakra on the flag too. According to  Hinduism it  is the middle of energy in human body, there are seventh chakras in a body and they influence the mind

India was under British rule in 1757 to 1947 that’s why it is an English country. 1947 is the date of India Independance

There are a lot of touristic town in India like Mumbai, New delhi, Goa, Jaipur, Pondichéry and so an so I’m going to talk about a few  touristic places but I can’t say every places which exist in India because there are a lot.

Lotus Temple It is a Temple in New Delhi which is considered as the Mother Temple in the South of Asia. Lotus Temple is open to people from all walks of life, all religion. The Temple looks like a lotus flower, there are 27 petals in marble. The lotus means the Purity in India and it is built in 1986. There are, each year, 4 millions of people who visited the Temple

Taj Mahal is a mausoleum ( a big funerary monument )in white marble, it was built by a Mongol emperor in 1648. It was built with a lot of kinds of architectures: Islamic Iranian India

Each year there are 4 millions of Tourist including 200 000 of strangers. The price of admission is higher for Tourist than Indian because the monument is too overcrowded

Varanasi is a town located in Uttar Pradesh. It is an Indian State. Varanasi is considerated as the oldest populated town in the world. It is a town which receives many pilgrims that is why Varanasi is an important and a holy town for Hinduism. Varanasi is famous for his ghats (bleachers gradins) it is stone steps which allow people to go to the River. Moreover, the town is known for the local craft: silk, jewellery and so an

Palace of Winds: It is a building built in the eighteenth century, and located in Jaipur, in the North of India. The Palace of Winds is considered as the most magnificent architectural rajput work. There are 953 windows and balconies and 5 floors. The building was created so as to allow the wind to circulate inside and also refresh the Palace.

The Taj Mahal Palace: This famous luxury hotel is located in Mumbaï and created in 1903. There are 560 rooms, 44 suits and 11 restaurants.

The Palace of Mysore (i) is a historical palace in the city of Mysore in Karnataka, southern India. It is the official residence and seat of the royal family of Mysore

Mysore Palace is now one of the most famous tourist attractions in India, after the Taj Mahal, with more than 6 million visitors each years

Konark Sun Temple is a 13th-century Sun Temple at Konark in Orissa, India. The temple is in the shape of a gigantic chariot, a major part of the structure is now in ruins. The temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it is on the list of Seven Wonders of India.

Elephanta caves are a network of sculpted caves located on Elephanta Island, 10 kilometres of the city of Mumbai. Elephanta caves was designated at a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 to preserve the artwork

The main cave is called the Shiva cave,  or the Great Cave, is 27 metres square in plan with a hall . At the entrance are four doors.The caves was directly dug in the inside.

Pagode Vipassanà is a Buddhist temple located in Bombay and created in 2008.

Vipassana is a Buddhist tradition, more specifically a form of meditation.

The Gateway of India is a monument built during the 20th century in Mumbai, it overlooks the Arabian Sea.The structure is a basalt arch, and it is 26 meters high. It was built to commemorate the visit in 1911 of Queen George the fifth and Queen Marie. It was the first structure that visitors arriving by boat in Mumbai would have seen. The Gateway is the city's top tourist attraction. However the gateway was the target of three terrorist attacks since the beginning of the 21 century.

There are a lot of monuments in India however the natural heritage attracts a lot of tourist in the country like:

The Thar Desert: it is a desert of 200 000 km2 in the North of India. There is 200mm of water each year. The Thar Desert is the most densely populated desert in the world; it has almost the same density as France. Tourists go to the Thar Desert to see fauna and flora and the population.  Indeed there are a lot of animals like antelope the Arabian gazelle and the Desert Fox….. The average temperature are very hot, it  is 55°in summer.
