Exposé anglais sur street art

Hello,

this artwork is a mural made by street artist Abraham.O  and called "Broken Look". This stunning work is realized on a wall in Mountgrove Road in Finsbury Park  in North London.

We don’t have much information on Abraham except that he is Salvodoran, that is to say coming from a South American country, El Salvador. He is very mysterious, we just know that he paints in London since this summer. He painted 6 realistic grayscale portraits all over London in a few months. Most of his paintings are in black and white, his work looks like Latin-American art.

We don’t have the real significance of this art because Abraham never talks about his art.

This painting gives the impression that the work is damaged as if we had wanted to tear off certain areas, like pieces of torn paper.

A close-up of a woman face is represented which reveals the feelings of the character to the viewer but also who seems to stare in a piercing, questioning way at anyone who stops to look at her.

In the middle we can see the face of a girl who seems to be sad. There is a door skillfully integrated in between her eyes replacing her nose. The mural is in black and white which makes it more sad. The left-hand side and the right-hand side seems to be torn, giving the impression that the work is damaged as if he had wanted to tear off certain areas, like pieces of torn paper. We don’t have the real signification of this art because Abraham never talks about his art.

I chose this mural because I saw many photos of it with different point of view and no matter the angle, you have always the impression that she looks at you. It seems like she tries to catch our attention, as for asking help. It works, it caught my attention and I found it very interesting. Thanks for listening.
