        Until 1928, the englishwomen didn't get the right to vote... Indeed, there was only men which decide for all the population.

        This situation was unbelievable for a woman : Emmeline Pankhurst.

This woman -who was a wife and a mother- was the first political activist woman in Great Britain.

        In 1909, to defend her ideas, she founded the Sufragette Movement. Emmeline became the leading activist and the figurehead of her political party.

        Emmeline was realy courageous, because in Great Britain, at this time, nobody listened women, especially for theim rights... Women should stay at home to cook or take care of children... So, to be listened, the Sufragettes burned flats, they chained themselves to lampposts, they make hunger-strike... All this actions for women rights, because Emmeline created a movement of women for women.

        She has pronounced political speeches to convince men that women can vote and became their equal.

She said that « We are here, not because we're lawbreakers, we are here to become lawmakers. » She crew in her convictions : she wanted equality, she wanted that women can chose them politic representants...

        Emmeline died in 1928 : during 19 years,  Emmeline Pankhurst fight for the equality of votting right in Great Brittain, she fought to reach a political progress.

        She has changed the women place forever and paved the way for future feminists.
