b) Describe what you see and hear from a hiding place

As I was hiking in the forest, I decided to stop and hide behind a bush to observe the wildlife in the snowy forest.

All I could see around me was mountains and pines. Everything was either snow white or in different shades of green. Small heaps of snow reflected the sunbeams when they weren't covered with pine needles and pine cones. It looked like if packs of tiny shimmering diamonds had been arranged. Lower down the mountain a frozen river was glitttering in the valley, reflecting the sky like a mirror. A group of silver rabbits hopped joyfully towards a hole in the ground. It must have been their burrow. Then two swirling spots of ginger appeared coming down from a nearby tree. They were soon joined by another one. The three squirrels started running on the cold snow. It looked like a ballet, a ballet of two blurred fire balls with a grey one dancing gracefully on a shining white and green scene.

Immersed in this wonderful show, I didn't see the sun setting. In a moment the day had turned into night. The birds that were singing a few minutes before had suddenly gone speachless. In fact the whole forest was now still and quiet. At first it sounded like a peaceful moment of calm, but this quietness was getting threatening. The only thing I could see were the small glowing lights of the village that was miles away. I heard howling from up in the mountain. Could it be a wolf? Then two owls flying just in front of me made my heart skip a beat. I started hearing all sorts of noises. The night wildlife was waking up. Just in front of me I saw two glowing yellow eyes like two light bulbs in all this darkness. It must be a fox. I crawled out of the bush I was hiding in. The two yellow light bulbs were indeed the eyes of a fox. He yapped. It sounded like a small dog barking.

I should try to get home before this exploration gets dangerous. After half an hour of searching my way I finally managed to get back to the village safe and sound.
