BLACK PANTHERS

The black Panther is a revolutionary movement of American Afro liberation , this movement is formed on October 15th 1966 and ends in 1982, more 2 founders of this movement are Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton. In January 1967 , this party opens first office to Oakland , several months later a campaign of patrol is sent to watch the actions of the police in the city . The actions of this movement of Blacks Panthers are to end essentially police brutality and murders of the Blacks. But this movement ends in 1982 because of the internal tensions and the actions carried out by FBI.

Black Panther Party members were involved in many fatal firefights with police including Huey Newton allegedly killing officer John Frey in 1967 and the 1968 Eldridge Cleaver led ambush of Oakland police officers which wounded two officers and killed Panther Bobby Hutton. The party was also involved in many internal conflicts including the murders of Alex Rackley and Betty Van Patter. Government oppression initially contributed to the party's growth, as killings and arrests of Panthers increased its support among African Americans and on the broad political left, both of whom valued the Panthers as a powerful force opposed to de facto segregation and the military draft. Black Panther Party membership reached a peak in 1970, with offices in 68 cities and thousands of members, then suffered a series of contractions.
