Twitter is a microblog and a social network like Facebook, instagram, snapchat ... . With Tweeter, you can send short messages up to 140 characters. These messages are called Tweets.

UnlikeFacebook, it's not possible to comment these messages. Tweeter was founded in 2006. It is really something new. But it was translated into French since 2009. The concept is to say what we do when we do it. This is the reason why the first slogan of Twitter was "What are you doing?" and then "What's happening?". Now the slogan is “The best way to discover what's new in your world”.

This aspect of Twitter is interesting because it is by this social network that the people are going to take the information. I am going to speak about statistics, so that you can realized the influence of Twitter on the American politics.

Twitter, in the ranking of the social networks, is far behind Facebook, YouTube and WhatsApp who counts billion users every month. But it affects more than 300 million users.

And on these 300 million users 34 % of Tweet are written in English. It is thus the English-speaking populations that are the most affected(touched) by the phenomenon. We count in the United States 100 million users from 21 to 40 years old. Twitter is thus going to bring information to these people who have the voting right. And for 6 years, the politics(policies) included well this phenomenon. The craziest it is an article of the Washington Post made a study and figures are there:

We can ask ourselves the question: how Twitter appears as a new communications tool between the politicians and the citizens?

The new use of Twitter in the political sphere.

The effects of the politicization of Twitter.

Indeed, Twitter simplified the interaction between the citizens and the politicians but also to spread political messages between them. So, the politics is as distinction, even a game on the social networks to defend sound candidates. Before going farther I want to speak to you top tweet. more a hashtag is used, more it is going to be popular. And it risks to be in the trends Twitter which is called: top tweet, and people be going to be able to know the hashtag and be able to consult all the tweets which use him. Year 2016 is the year when there was most hashtag used. Which is normal with the American elections. During the presidential election campaign two camps formed on Twitter. Those who were for Hillary and those who were for Donald Trump. Hashtag as. .ont was created before election and hashtag as. . After the election. So, followers can participate and militate for their candidate.

This election was the departure of many hashtag, because in 2016 the the most used hashtags was for Black lives matters and for affair kaepernick. I think that I am going to speak to you about this affair which illustrates well the political fights which takes place on Twitter and how they changed the political scene.

To summarize, Kaepernick was the quarterback of the team of San Francisco and during a match of the NFL kneeled down during the national anthem. The hymn national in the United States is very respected and learnt from the youngest age.
