Place and date of birth: January 26th, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama. (72 years old)

Social Background:  Mother → Sallye Davis, elementary school teacher, was into politics when Angela grew up.

Father → Frank Davis, owner of a service station.

→ Two brothers (Ben & Reginald) and a sister (Fania).

Education: → Active member in her church youth group as a child.

Davis grew up surrounded by communist organizers and thinkers who significantly influenced her intellectual development due to her mother being involved in the Communist Party.

→ Graduated from the Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama.

→ Member of the Girls Scouts of America.

→ Studied at the Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachussets. Davis also studied at the university of Frankfurt, Germany where she lived with a stipend of 100$/Month.

→ Incarcerated in jail for 18 months because the weapon Jackson, a black high-school student, used to escape his trial was purchased by Davis, the government directly thought she was involved in the crime that made four victims. (1970-1972)

Major Achievements :

- Considered to be a distinguished social and political activist of the United States.

- Huge contribution in the uplifting of the political and social conditions of blacks in the American society.

-  Very involved in the Communist Party and the Black Panther Party.

- Keynote speaker on the issues of feminism.

- Fought to improve the conditions of prisoners in the jails of United States.

- In 1979, Davis was awarded the Lenin Peace Prize in Soviet Union and was made the honorary professor at the Moscow State University

- She became the vice-president of the Communist Party in 1980.

- Formed the African American Agenda 2000 to alliance black feminists in 1995

- Wrote several books about activism.

- Worked for the rights and acceptance of gays, lesbians and transgenders in society.

- Delivered many speeches for universities, colleges to spread her message as she was a teacher.

- Strictly opposed to death penalty.

- Figure of the American Communism. She is portrayed as a revolutionary.

- She made african american people aware of the corruption of the government.
