Internship report

November to December 2012

INTRODUCTION

This report is about my internship at Agence 914 covering the period of one month from November to December 2012. For this semester, we had to find an internship in the sector which we appreciate most. I decided to look in press relations because my last internship was in this activity and it was a revelation for me.

After having applied to numerous organizations, I met Juliette Laniray, director of 914 who immediately offered me the post. I shall begin this report with a presentation of the agency, then with a description of my missions before concluding by my point of view of this experience.

I) AGENCE 914

Agence 914 was created about 7 years ago. It is a very successful company which considerably evolved. The main activities of the company are :

 Press relations : allow to increase the press or online visibility of a company, create buzz around a product or a concept and drive website traffic.

 Events : Media events may center around a news announcement, a press conference in response to a major media event, or planned events like speeches or demonstrations. As the press relation, They allow to increase the visibility of the customer, it’s why they need to be Impressive and relevant.

The agency is composed of four persons; the director and three press agents. A press agent will provide information to the media such as upcoming public events, interview opportunities, and promotional dates, and will work with the media in getting in touch with an appropriate client or resource.

The company counts many customers as CASTALIE, LA FETE DE LA NATURE, HANDIVALIDES, CANAL PLUS, EAU ECARLATE, PETROSSIAN…

II) MY MISSIONS

As trainee, I had to help all the press agents in their projects. I worked on three projects. The first was “Canal Plus” where our mission was to promote the release of a DVD casket on the story of the train. The second was for “Petrossian”, a caviar store. We owed place the product in the pages of Christmas presents of women's magazines. The last, “La Fête de la Nature”, is a national manifestation during three days in May which make sensitive around the nature and the environment. Our role was to make this event known about all the generations.

My responsibilities were ;

 Make searches on our customers and on the competition

 Draft press releases. (The press releases is a written communication directed at members of the news media for the purpose of announcing something to the journalists ostensibly newsworthy)

 Call the journalists to speak to them about the product / the brand

 Seize all the articles and clippings about our customers

 Make quotation requests for a press breakfast

III) CONCLUSION
