1)The parachute serves has to slow down the fall of a load. Parachutes are usually made out of light, strong fabric, originally silk, now most commonly nylon. They are typically dome-shaped, but vary, with rectangles, inverted domes, and others found. 

2)Before the parachute, if a plane broke down, the pilot had no chance of survival while now yes.

The modern parachute was invented in the late 18th century by Louis-Sébastien Lenormand in France. He coined the word "parachute",  by mixing a Latin prefix para to defend, resist, guard, shield and chute, the French word for fall.  Jean-Pierre Blanchard demonstrated it as a means of safely disembarking from a hot-air balloon.  Blanchard's first parachute demonstrations were conducted with a dog as the passenger. development of the parachute focused on it becoming more compact .While the early parachutes were made of linen stretched over a wooden frame,, Blanchard began making parachutes from folded silk .  In 1911, Russian Gleb Kotelnikov invented the first knapsack parachute .The first military use of the parachute was by artillery observers on tethered observation balloons in World War I ,observers would abandon them and descend by parachute as soon as enemy aircraft were seen. The experience with parachutes during the war highlighted the need to develop a design that could be reliably used to exit a disabled airplane. 

3) Thanks to this invention, a new sport was born, the skydiving, it consists in jumping of a certain height and in making acrobatic tricks in the sky.The parachute does not serve that for the people, we can now help people in zones stricken and difficult to achieve by sending to them of the food for example. The parachute was also a lot of use to the military level during the Second World War, in particular during the landing where soldiers were parachuted behind the enemy lines.

4)Parachutes are usually made out of light, strong fabric. This veil uses the air resistance to slow down the fall of the load. The load is attached on the parachute thanks to diverse cables. Sports parachute have a veil of help in more.
