Technological developments in 21st century changed people’s life standards; especially these developments have affected people’s life styles and their inclinations. Mobil phones and computers that have been developed with these latest technologies have started to occupy % 80 percentages of people’s lives and made way for new work fields. The technology that develops not only affected the information sector but also extensive fields like industry and education. A very few percentage of world population is without technology and this technology has reached out even to the undeveloped countryside. While some people defends the advantages of technology, others don’t like it because of the possibility of degeneration.

If we’re to talk about positive effects of technology, firstly: in terms of making communication easier; distances and continents don’t matter anymore. The commerce networks and enterprises have grown up thanks to this technology and we passed to the fast production era. We have the chance to reach what we desire, in moment. This is one of the biggest advantages of technology. If we’re to look at the side of education; there’s an endless resource of information at the hands of educators and students and this has great effect in the sense of their development and career. Especially, people can reach to the information by one click without minding time and space. It’s become a huge advantage not only for education but also for employers and employees. Today; there’s a concept that’s called “interactive” so, many educators and company owners can communicate without being there. The next generation is educated better thanks to technology. And there are many more other advantages…

On the other hand, there are also negative effects of technology as much as it’s positive effects. Firstly, being in fast production era and reaching to everything by one click have driven people to laziness. As another negative effect, many people lost their habits and their participation in social life is highly decreased because of smart phones and computers. Most important of all; the industrialization has decreased the labor therefore kept the small enterprises, young and old out of business life. The addiction of internet and technology isolated people; destroyed nearly all face to face and effective communication. Especially, the possibility of reaching to the information by one click caused great information pollution and drove people into conflict. Many young and old express themselves differently because of internet and participate to the trends that don’t fit them in order to show themselves.

In conclusion, we can’t ignore the benefits of technology for the human history but we also must take into consideration its negative effects. If we are conscious about technology and internet; and diminish it’s use to the minimum in our lives it would affect greatly positive on people. Therefore we might have the opportunity to put to good use our social lives. The removal of technology would have disastrous effects on the society therefore people should focus on the question “How can I put it to good use?”. Especially, the next generation that comes with the great technology could create great things in the case of using it for the well being.
