Trevor Noah

Noah started a small role on the South African drama called soap opera, Isidingo in 2002, when he was 18.

In 2009 he hosted the 3rd Annual South Africa Film and Television Awards (SAFTA Awards)

In 2010, Noah also became a spokesperson and consumer protection agent for Cell C, South Africa's third largest cellular provider.

Noah dropped his radio show and acting to focus on comedy, and has performed with South African comedians such as Riaad Moosa, Darren Simpson, Marc Lottering, Barry Hilton and Nik Rabinowitz.

And international comedians such as Paul Rodriguez, Carl Barron and Paul Zerdin, and as the opening act for Gabriel Iglesias in November 2007 and Canadian comedian Russell Peters on his South African tour.

His stand-up comedy specials in South Africa include The Day walker (2009), Crazy Normal (2011), That's Racist (2012), and It's My Culture (2013).

On 6 January 2012 Noah became the first South African stand-up comedian to appear on The Tonight Show hosted by Jimmy Fallon and on 17 May 2013, he became the first to appear on Late Show with David Letterman.

Noah was the subject of the 2012 documentary You Laugh But It's True about his childhood experiences in a biracial family during apartheid to prepare for his first one-man show.

The type of humour he is best known for is of raunchy/ blue mixed with satire. Most of his comedies are based on racial jokes but ridiculing human stupidity or follies.

He was born at the time of apartheid and the laws said that white people couldn’t be with black. His father was a white from Switzerland and his mom was a black South African. It means he was born in crime.

And he said one time he was with his mom walking in the market and when the cops came she dropped him. It was a tough time for him. He had the felling that he was dropped like a bag of weed.

He was nominated for the MTV Africa Music Awards 2014 for Personality of the Year

Now he is planning some new comedies and continues being a panelist on channel 4 and appears on Sean lock’s team in cats do countdown.
