They are created in 1040 and commercialize by The Mars in 1948.

The creation of M&M’s began when Forrest Mars made a trip to Spain during the Spanish Civil War. He came across some soldiers who were eating chocolates pellets covered in a hard sugar coating. The main purpose of that hard sugar coating was to maintain the chocolate freshness and prevent it from melting.

PRODUCT

In 1940 M& ‘s packaged in cardboard tubes. In 1948, the packaging changed from a tube to the brown plastic pouch known today. The letter "m" is printed on each candy with vegetable dye.

M&M’s markets itself as a candy with milk chocolate and therefore can effectively competes in two categories: candy and chocolate.

So those categories can to differentiate itself with a competitive advantage.

M&Ms has different variety of candy types, different colors, and sizes.

M&MS also has 30 licenses to promote other products such as sweatshirts, M&Ms dispensers and plush dolls of the Spokescandies.

M & M's World New York is located on Broadway in Times Square, each outer side of the building are attached giant screens diffusing entertainment around characters and M & M's candy.

The store features include selling many products M & M's in connection with New York and a wall of chocolate made with lot of tubes filled with M & M's.

Pricing for M&M’s is modestly priced.

This is an affordable candy that everyone can afford and enjoy.

A M&m’s which can run $30 per pound are targeting a higher class of customer.

Single serving bags are typically under one dollar.

Large bags of M&M’s range from $2-$3.

To buy a customized bag of M&M’s will be a little more expensive. This selection gives you the option to put a customized message on your candy and the ability to pick up to two customized colors. The price for one 8 ounce bag is $9.49, but the minimum quantity allowed is 4 bags, making the minimum total $37.96
