How it all started…

J.D. was born in Kentucky in 1963. He began to play in films when he was 21, at that time he got his first part in the thriller “A Nightmare on Elm Street». Then he played in many stories like Private Resort, Slow burn, platoon, and Hotel.

In 1987 he has got the leading role in a series named 21 Jump Street. This story tells about a police officer established in an old church (21 Jump street).The team is composed of young policemen. J.D. is the “officer”. He played in 4 seasons, for a total of 5 seasons. He finally became an international star with Edward Scissorhands, a Tim Burton movie. It’s the story of a strange creation: Edward Scissorhands is a mechanic boy, he was created, but his creator died before finishing him. So he has metal fingers (like scissors or knifes). Depp and Tim Burton became very good friends and Johnny played in many films directed by him. It’s one of the reasons of his celebrity.

A march to the glory…

When he played in Sleepy Hollow, in 1999, he was already awarded An Honorary César for all his work accomplished! In 2003, he was chosen for the leading role in a Disneyland theme ride attractions film, Pirates of the Caribbean, which is today a famous series of fantasy-adventure films. He plays the eccentrics Captain Jack Sparrow, and has become kids and grown-up favorite pirate. He was awarded an Oscar for Best Actor in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and became a legend.

Not just a strange actor…

J.D. has also been part of a band when he was young: the Clame. He really loved music. The band changed name in “The kids”, an idea from him… Then they will tour with Iggy pop, a very famous man surnamed “godfather of punk”.

Johnny Depp, at just 48 years old, has become a legend of the cinema, admired by all the generations… And he didn’t say his last word! We will see him very soon in the film Dark Shadows.
