Mark Wahlberg

Mark Wahlberg is an actor, a singer and an American producer. He was born in June 1971 in Boston in Massachusetts. M. Wahlberg grew up, in the Boston district of Dorchester, in an Irish Catholic family and he's the youngest of nine children (5 brothers and 3 sisters). It was marked by the divorce of his parents, Alma and Donald, at the age of 11 and left school three years later. At 14, Mark Wahlberg dropped out of school and began making his living on the street, stealing and selling drugs. Two years later, he hit rock bottom when he was jailed for his role in the savage beating of a Vietnamese man. Although the crime was believed by many to be racially motivated, Wahlberg has continually denied that race played a part in the attack. His 45-day stint in prison was a self-proclaimed turning point in his life. Vowing to give himself some direction in his life, he also began body building seriously. His mother has since blamed her own emotional neglect for her youngest son's descent into juvenile delinquency.

After his release from prison, he got help from his brother, Donnie Wahlberg, member of the boys band New Kids on the Block. This allowed him to develop his musical talent. Mark became a singer in a hip-hop group, Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch, who released two albums gaining some success in the United States. In 1992, he became the model of the fashion designer Calvin Klein. He began his career in cinema in 1994, by winning a role in Operation Shakespeare, but he had to wait until 1997 to become famous with his performance in the film Boogie Nights.

He has had two nominations: in 2006, for the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (The Departed, Martin Scorsese) and in 2010 for the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama, thanks to his performance acclaimed boxer in The Fighter, David O. Russell.

Mark Wahlberg married August 1, 2009 the American model Rhea Durham, with whom he has three children.

In late July 2012, he inaugurated his star on the famous Hollywood Boulevard Walk of Fame in Los Angeles.

He has produced 25 movies and has acted in 52 movies such as Planet of the Apes, The Italian Job, The Departed, The fighter, Ted, Lone Survivor and Transformers: Age of extinction.

In 2015, he should act in 4 movies: Ted 2, The six billion dollar man, daddy’s home and Deepwater Horizon.
