Part 1

Technology has been getting more significant in contrast to past .In today’s world people can get easy find other people where they are or what they are doing on good and  bad way. In my opinion , the governments watch and find  us in bad way so we have already Big Brother .Nowadays big companies and governments have started to collect personal information from  their customers and citizens to learn more thing about them.  According   to Daily  Mail UK (08/29/2013),the US government ranked first on the list, requesting information on 21k Facebook users, while India asked for data on 4,144 users in second place and Britain came in third with 2,337 requests.(para2) .In order to have clean relations between customers and producers using customer’s personal information is highly significant. According to Teece (2009) , ‘businesses need to be more customer centric, especially since technology has evolved to allow the lower cost provision of information  and customer solutions.(para2)Knowing the people’s  all confidential information have a controversial issue. Some of them think that gathering people’s information from customers is not right and the others not agree this idea. According to Markgraf (n.d) , Scientific advances let businesses to use technology to reach what they want easily such applications of technology start breaking on the rights of individuals and can be unethical.(para.1).It has some advantages and disadvantages for using or collecting customers or citizens special information’s. When we consider  advantages from companies view, using peoples personal data is highly beneficial because by reaching private data they are able to know customers preferences. For example, some of internet sites make a survey before you shop .Thus, they can easily understand what is your interested in or preferences and they start to inform you about same items after your shopping. On  the other hand, nowadays the governments try to control citizens by watching them from cameras. The governments set up the camera systems in every places even our homes .According to Steward (2010) “America is becoming a surveillance society with video cameras being installed everywhere.”(para.1).Actually, this system might be declined the crime rate or get easy to find the criminal people and  government can control the citizens easily. In addition to this, non-government companies also use this system in the own buildings for control performance of employees or providing safety. According to the book "1984", the surveillance system called Big Brother has a power to watch the citizens in everywhere and  government have authority to penalize them. Because of that reason ,many  citizens should be careful to their behaviours .The power of the camera system can be easily seen yet the government should not step into everything or non-government system like Big Brother. In addition to this , hacker groups like Anonymous wants to interfere the surveillance systems. This can be consider as protest which is refuse to the power of government yet in order to live in a peaceful way everybody should respect to the government.

Part 2

In the previous years, WikiLeaks became the main topic of the world. It revealed government secrets to the public. It can be clearly seen that WikiLeaks  wanted to show and inform citizens about the governments private information.According to Truth IS a revolution (n.d), WikiLeaks brightened to the darkness of  the secret fıles, criminality ,unethical behavior on the part of both governments and corporations. Actually, some part of people believes that WikiLeaks achieved a good job by informing public in terms of how the surveillance program on the US government works. In my opinion, this leaks damaged to the governments reliability and it led to riot. But there is a right about the against to this leak , governments have some rules and everyone has to obey these rules. In addition , citizens don’t have to know  everything about the government and almost every government inform the citizens about the things need to know. I think that governments are based on secrets. When WikiLeaks giving away which secrets of the government , the governments become less powerful in view of the other’s. Some secret government correspondences had  subjected to countries because of the frame up with other countries. According to Noel(2012), there were a diplomatic crisis between Egypt and Ethiopian  governments and the claim that Egypt’s contingency  plans to sabotage Ethiopian dam . And also according to Karhula(2012) Wikileaks US diplomatic cables leak the contents of any of the previous actions led to angry reaction significantly different from the other countries.(para10)Thus, private things decrease the trustworthiness of governments also these things can be break down the peace in the public. Moreover, there are some restrictions in some countries about Internet. According to Wikileaks and Internet Freedom-Human Rights First (n.d.), there is no independent media and they are also under pressure the government, the only public square open to dissenting voices. To give an example , in the past previous months the millions of Turkish citizens took the streets to protest Turkish government. Every people think that these  protests were arranged  by opposition side. I think the main reason for this protests was fed up with the government restrictions in the communication people on the Internet. There is no freedom  of the public if there are restrictions. According to Internet filter in Turkey sparks fear of cencorship (2011),  thousands of Turkish people have held protests across the country under the motto “Hands of my Internet” . Bearing mind aforementioned points it can be concluded that the government and WikiLeaks have some rights in they own way but I  against the WikiLeaks because of the I mentioned in ideas.
