Photojournalism is a particular form of journalism. The collecting, editing and presenting of news for publication or broadcast. They use images to tell stories. Photojournalism has evolved a lot since it’s creation. Now there is some debate over photojournalism, the question is photojournalism is of no use? I got one point of view that I will explain.

I think photojournalism is important because firstly photojournalism help to discover more history of our world. I think it’s better to see an important picture of the past because we can see more details of the events as well we can see the face of great personalities. I prefer see a photograph that read a text about historical events. With photography you can make your own point of view yet with a text I think we got the point of view of the writer.

Secondly I think photojournalism touch more people that a text. That is to say when people are confronted with images, they feel emotion, compassion etc.… They can have their own opinion and react to the picture or not. For example the photograph of Kevin Carter with the little girl and the vulture. This is a great picture but on my opinion Kevin Carter should not have taken this photograph because he prefer take the picture that help the young girl, I feel sad for the girl but other people can have another point of view and another reaction to this photograph it’s for that I said photojournalism touch more people. And with this picture we see one of the problem in the world, famine.

So photojournalism is useful but begin to die little by little because there are new technologies and social networks. Now you don’t have to take photojournalism news, you just need to go on internet or social networks for see pictures.
