To Serve Man part 1

The name of the narrator is Peter;

He worked at the U.N. before resigning and after he becomes a translator with the Kanamit Embassy.

Grigori was Peter's colleague at the U.N.

The Kanamit are Aliens.They look like pigs short, very hairy-thick bristly brown-gray hair all over their abominably plump bodies; they have noses snoutlike, eyes small, flat ears and thick hands of only three fingers each; yhey wear green leather harness and green shorts...

The first gift is a new cheap power source, who give more electrical power than an atomic pile.

The second gift is a gadget that increases the fertility of any arable land by 60 to 100 per cent.

The third gift is a device who generates a field in which no explosive of whatever nature can detonate.

They want to bring peace and plenty which benefit them; the reward would be no more war, famine and unnecessary suffering.

When the kanamit come to the U.N., Peter didn't think that they were trying to put anything over. For him, the tests look genuine, whereas Grigori don't believe it and compare it to a circus probably because of their unusual appearance and especially because he his afraid. Peter gives the impression of not being afraid because he's more interested in them.

After few months, Peter see Grigori again. Now, Grigori says that they're not what they look, that it fascinate him but he still hates them inside, he still doesn't trust them and he spies on them in some way.

At the end, Peter and Grigori try to translate a book that the Kanamit give to the staff...
