Ink shedding activity

  1. I believe that success is the accomplishment of an objective that you had and someone that is successful is someone that could achieve their dreams/goals in life. However, success seen by the community is quite different. In our society, someone that is considered successful is either rich, famous or both. Personally, I think the secret to being successful is to simply work as hard as you can and to be honest to yourself and the will to never give up.
  1. Success depends on a lot of things. First and foremost, I think that success mostly depends on you. Are you willing to sacrifice a lot of precious time and money to attain your ultimate goal? Are you willing to put in the effort needed? I strongly believe that hard work and passion is needed to succeed. If you don’t persevere through though and thin, then I don’t believe that you can reach your ultimate goal. You can’t lose hope. However, I do believe that most of the time, somebody that wants to be successful has to be somewhat lucky. As a matter of fact, people that start with an advantage (mentally, physically, or monetarily) have an easier path to success. Being born in a wealthy and caring family can certainly help you. I also do believe that some people are more talented than others when it comes to success. For example, some people are naturally talented in math and others, in sports, which comes to show that not anybody is meant to be seen as successful by the community. You have to be somewhat talented. However, they can still consider themselves successful. In conclusion, I believe that you unconditionally need to be a hard worker and a little bit lucky to be successful.

3- I do believe that I’ve had advantages over other kids of my generations and previous generations. First of all, I was born in a wealthy and caring family. Both my parents told me that no matter what I try to do in life, they’ll always support me. Because of that, I had the possibility to go to a private secondary school and cegep of my choice. Also, like many parents with a good income, they made me a bank account with funds so I could start with something when I arrive in the “real world”.

Obviously, everything that I just mentioned doesn’t apply to everyone in Quebec. I have many friends that are far from having the same “gift” I got from my parents. To be honest, I consider myself very lucky, because I know that only a small percentage of the population are as lucky as me.

Everything that my parents did for me helped a lot. For example, I could choose a school without worrying about anything. I also had access to any sport I wanted to play. I had the opportunity to try everything. Nowadays, I can study freely and without any distractions, which is something a lot of teenagers take for granted. Many kids don’t have the opportunity to study and do well in school or other projects in life. In my future, I can rely on the fund my parents made for me, because I will be able to start my “new life” with a major advantage (money-wise), but I will also have emotional support if I ever fail (which will most likely happen to all of us).
