The story takes place in Hertfordshire in the XVIII century in the Bennet family. In this family they have five daughters and the mother try to marry all of them because of a will problem. The story started when a rich man call Mr Bingley came to this town with his sister and one of his friend, Mr Darcy. During a bale where the Bennet family went, Mrs Bennet try to meet Mr Bingley and introduce her daughters to him with the hope of marry one of them to him who looks more interest in the older daughter, Jane who also like him. The heroine, the second daughter, Elisabeth, try to speak with Mr Darcy but she dislike him, she thought he is rude after he refused to dance with her and here is the start of the prejudice. She also met a soldier call Wickham who knew Mr Darcy when he was a child and told her more things to make her dislike him.

Some days after, the successor of Mr Bennet, Mr Collins, who will have their house came to Hertfordshire to meet the five sisters with the idea to marry Elisabeth with the advice of his protector Lady Catherine, but she doesn’t want to because she think he is stupid and refused. But before he left to go back to the Kent, he married Elisabeth best friend, Charlotte.

Mr Darcy and Mr Bingley’s sister who saw that Mr Bingley like Jane and wanted to marry her, convince him to don’t do that and going back to London. When Elisabeth went to Charlotte and Mr Collins house for a several days she met Mr Darcy at Lady Catherine’s who is his aunt. The day after he came to ask her to marry him but she refused because she thought that it is his fault if Mr Bingley left and also because of the things that mister Wickham told her about him. Mr Darcy wrote her a letter to explain that he convinced Mr Bingley to leave because he thought Jane didn’t like him and because of their family. He also explained that Wickham is not as great as she think. This letter changed her opinion of Mr Darcy but she can’t explain anything to anyone and that made her feel depress.

During a travel with her aunt and her uncle during the summer, Elisabeth visited Mr Darcy house and that really changed how she see Mr Darcy because everyone tell her he is a great person. But Elisabeth learnt that her young sister ran away with Wickham and so she had to come back. When she came back, her younger sister was married with Wickham and Mr Bingley came to ask Jane to marry him and she accepted.
