1. The nature of the text is a first narrative text, maybe it’s an autobiographical
text.
2. The narrator is a young Indian who is returning to his reservation after having
resided in Seattle. At first he falls into apathy and only watches television without
even reading the adds of the newspaper to find a job. However, he begins to
practice basketball again and gets ready to play with others Indians.
b) Back home (9pts)
4. The narrator’s family wasn’t very surprised with the return of the boy. A real
indian place is in a reservation: « there’s an old Indian poet who said that Indians
can reside in the city, but they can never live there. » (l.2)
5. We can see that he’s depressed because he shows a lack of interest in almost
everything. He doesn’t know what he wants to do
