I would like to talk you about Zinédine Zidane. Zinédine or Zizou it’s his surname was born on the 23th of June 1972 in Marseille. His Family came from Algeria. He is married and he has 4 children, all boys. He was a very good French football player. He is widely regarded as one of the best players of all time. He has already won the FIFA world cup in 1998 and the European championship in 2000. He was considered as the best French sport man in 2006. And three times, he was awarded top world player of the year. He has won the golden ball twice in his career.

And now, I’ll talk you about his career in clubs. He started to play professional football when he was 16 years old. He played in Cannes in Ligue 1. And 4 years later, Zidane left Cannes to go to play in Bordeaux. Bordeaux team reached the final of the UEFA cup in 1996 but they lost against the Bayern Munich. After that, Zizou was bought by the Juventus of Turin. But in 2001, he left Juventus because the Real Madrid bought him for 77 million of Euros. It was the most expensive transfer of the football history.

He was titular for the first time in the French team for the European championship in 1996.France was eliminated in quarter final by the Czech Republic during penalty shootout. But in the world cup in France in 1998, Zinédine played very well. It was thanks to him that France was finalist. And in the final against the Brazil, Zidane scored 2 goals and France won by a score of 3-0. France won for the first time the FIFA world cup. And in 2000, France won the European championship too. At this time, France was the first country in the FIFA ranking. But in 2004, Zizou left the national team a first time. And he came back in 2006 for playing the world cup, but he said that he’ll retire after the cup. France reached the final against Italia. Zidane opened the score by a penalty. But Italia equalized. Materazzi provoked Zinédine and Zinédine punched him with the head in the thorax. He received a red card and left the football field. Italia won after penalty shootout.

After the world cup, Zizou left the Real Madrid and the national team. But he became adviser of the Real Madrid director. He also became ambassador of the team and sportive director. Today, Zidane takes part in several charity activities.
