The British liner was put on hold at Belfast on 31 March 1909. It has been presented as the most luxurious and largest liner of all time. Interior luxury has been in keeping with the first classes at least : swimming pool, turkish baths, gym, squash court, electricity and heating in all rooms, staircase carved in Art Nouveau style, bright dome...

The proud ship is considered unsinkable because of its double hull made of steel plates, also divided into 16 watertight compartments, each of which can be isolated others by a sliding door in case of incident.

On Sunday, April 14, at 10 :55 p.m., the Californian, sailing off Newfoundland, passed near the Titanic. But the latter does not indicate the presence of several icebergs.
The drama happens at 11 :40. The lookout saw the mass of an iceberg too late and the guard officer could not reverse.
 He inadvertently tries to avoid it and hits it on the side. At 12 :20, Captain Smith did not order the evacuation of the ship because he wanted the vessel to sink with his wife because he had deceived her with the mate of the ship and he managed to leave with a boat before the boat broke in two. Breaking in two, the ship sinks. A ship, only one, comes to the aid of the sea giant. The shipwreck claimed a minimum of 1502 victims.[pic 4]
